At Lizard Methodist Church

Sunday 10th May marked a new venue for the choir, as it sang in Lizard village for the first time. The choir had been invited to sing by Rachel Tonkin in aid of raising funds for the chapel.

The choir crammed into the chapel, where they were greeted by almost a full house, with only a few seats empty upstairs. The guest artist appearing with the choir was a young and very talented soprano, Saffron Jones, accompanied by Dr Anthony Seddon on the piano. Everyone enjoyed the evening, and those present particularly enjoyed the Choir singing ‘Trencrom’.

In her closing remarks, Rachel remarked that she had been to a male voice choir concert and thought that she would invite the choir back to the Lizard. She duly contacted Tim, our secretary and the concert was arranged. Unfortunately she had invited the wrong choir as it wasn’t Mousehole she had heard sing!!!

Following the concert everyone, audience included, was treated to an incredible supper laid on by the chapel ladies, and, in these politically correct times, gentlemen.

Thank you to all, for the hospitality you showed us, even though we weren’t supposed to be there. All we can say is that we enjoyed the supper laid on for the other choir and that they had missed a real treat!!!!

Together with Saffron, the wrong choir helped raise £725 for the the Chapel funds.
