Héloise West - guest artiste at Mousehole's 82nd Summer Festival Concert

Monday 21st July, 2014 - 3:33pm

Weeks of preparation will come to an end with Mousehole Male Voice Choir's 82nd Summer Festival Concert in St. Mary's Church, Penzance on Sunday, 3rd August, with 7.30pm start.
Admission is by programme;  it will be a full house and seats are unreserved so it is important to get there early. You are advised to purchase in advance at the discounted price of £7 from The Kings Arms, Paul; Mousehole News; or Morrab Studio, Penzance.  Only a limited number of programmes may be available on the door price £8.
Musical Director Stephen Lawry and the choir will present a full programme, including several new pieces for the occasion, with the support of  the choir's very talented Accompanist, Annette Turton.  The team  has sung in York Minster, Southwark Cathedral, the Royal Albert Hall and gives as much pleasure visiting local schools and more than twenty other appearances closer to home.  But the big annual occasion is always the Summer Festival Concert on home ground and draws a capacity audience from all over Cornwall and beyond just to hear the choir alone.
Every year they add an icing to the cake with a special guest artiste.  In earlier years the choir has hosted Bryn Terfel, Dame Felicity Lott, Dame Valerie Masterson, Owen Brannigan, Alan Opie, John Treleaven, Benjamin Luxon, Amorel Gunson and Bonaventura Bottone, Cynthia Glover, Heddle Nash, Norma Proctor to name but a few.  More recently the choir's guest artiste was the rapidly rising star, Faryl Smith, whose debut album was released in March 2009 and became the fastest selling solo classical album in British chart history, 29,200 copies in the first week.
This year sees the very welcome return of  the versatile Soprano Héloise West who first charmed a local audience in 2006 and is with us again by popular demand.

Héloise was born and based in Devon but she isn't home much and makes solo appearances in oratorios, classic concerts, light operas and presents a varied concert programme which has something to suit all tastes.  You can be sure of more musical treats from her.
Be there; it's a big occasion in West Cornwall!
