To London Town

Tuesday 5th November, 2013 - 7:13pm

On 31st October Mousehole Male Voice Choir was on its way to London today to sing in the Royal Albert Hall with the 600+ massed voices of the Cornish Federation of Male Voice Choirs. The concert has been more than two years in the planning and will have an international audience.
The Mousehole choir is now the largest in the Federation and will provide the biggest single contingent in the prestigious concert on Saturday 2nd November. The choir's Musical Director, Stephen Lawry, will be one of the four Conductors chosen to lead the event. Before that, on Friday 1st November, the choir will give a recital in Southwark Cathedral. The choir is greatly honoured to have been chosen to sing as representing a major part of Cornish Culture when the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, visits Penzance later in November.
