The Chair and Trustees of the Solomon Browne Hall invited the choir to sing at the official opening of the hall last Monday. The official opening was performed by HRH The Duke of Kent KG who arrived by helicopter and then travelled by car to the harbour front. The Duke of Kent walked up Duck street, where the choir was originally formed in 1909, and was greeted by other dignitaries. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon Mousehole Male Voice choir assembled, with friends and family, at St Thomas’ church in Heamoor for a very special occasion. One of our second tenors, Ken Prouse, was being presented with his British Empire Medal by the Lord Lieutenant of the county, Colonel Edward Bolitho OBE. CORNWALL MUSIC FESTIVAL SUCCESS

On Friday 17th March the choir competed in Class E2 of the Cornwall Music Festival. This class was for Male Voice Choirs with more than 30 singers. Competing with Mousehole for the Holman Cup was St Stythians Male Voice Choir. Mousehole sang two pieces, Mark Hayes arrangement of 'The Battle of Jericho' and 'Sing Your Way Home' by Joseph M Martin.
