Mousehole Christmas Concert

On Friday 21st December, at 7.30pm, Mousehole Male Voice Choir will present its Christmas Concert in Paul Church. Admission will be £5 - a bargain for this big event - and programmes will be available from the Kings Arms, Paul; Mousehole News; and Morrab Studio, or you can pay at the door. The two charities which will benefit from this event will be Penzance Sea Cadets and the British Heart Foundation (Penzance branch). Read More »

The Choir helped to get Paul Feast week off to a great start, as they always do, giving a concert in support of the church. Our special guest, Sylvia Berryman, travelled from Northamptonshire especially to sing with the choir, and she didn’t disappoint, with her well chosen programme and beautiful tone and control she was absolutely delightful. The Choir recently returned from a very successful visit to Yorkshire. All hands met early on Thursday morning for a trip which went smoothly from beginning to end. The choir members and their nearest and dearest who were able to travel not only enjoyed fine music, but also enjoyed very fine food and great company along the way. Read More »

Within a full programme of male voice favourites, the choir will premiere six new pieces added to the repertoire this year, one of which, Mill Mud, has never been previously performed in Britain. Mousehole Male Voice Choir with Olympic Flame

The morning after the night before! It was a joy to see four dozen choir members turn out to sing on the steps of Penzance's town hall, St John's Hall, just a few hours after the concert at the Catholic Church in the town. The men were there in time to see the Olympic Torch carried through the town (along with all the coaches, cars, police motorbikes and brand advertising lorries) and then found their way through the crowds who had gathered, to form up on the fine granite steps in front of the hall. The Bath Inn, Penzance, was packed on Monday evening, 30th January, 2012, when the members gathered to review their activities during a busy 2010-2011 period. While it had been sad to record the death of senior members Garfield Mathews and Alec Nippard and the loss of three other members on health grounds, the balance had been maintained by five new full members and a further seven were completing their probationary periods Read More »
